25 OCT 2011 - HOT Sunday Street Meet

Last Sunday saw the first Sunday Street Meet of the season and the warmer conditions both helped and hindered the event. Over 80 racers turned up early get on the track with racing getting underway at 11:00am until 1:00 pm while we had a short lunchbreak so everyone could grab a bite to eat and well deserved cool drink ... 1:30 pm we were back into it again until 3:30pm when it was time for some burnout action to finish the day off.

Over 600 runs went down the track with many racers getting 20+ runs in the warm conditions and even though the track temp was up there was still plenty of traction all the way down the track.

Andrew Stavrou had his 13B Rotary powered Celica hooking up well and ran a best of 11.02 @ 123 mph

This tidy HQ belongs to Anthony Camilleri and has 350 cubes of Chevy under the bonnet running a best of 12.5 at only 81 mph so there is plenty more in this beast!

Jack Jreige's tough little RX-7 was running 13'1s

Warrick Kosan's very neat looking Typhoon Ute was running 13'1s also

Did someone say street meet? Then of course Corinne Zammit will be there giving her wagon a run for it's money and was very happy to go home with her first ever 14 second time slip!

Deni Karovski's AU XR8 has 363 cubes of Windsor under the bonnet running well into the 11s at over 120 mph!

Raymond Dennis was back out in his Holden V8 powered Volvo running easy 13s.

Colin Candy had his CBR 954 running in the low tens going a 10.28 @ 134 mph best!

Joe Sabato is one of our regular Super Street racers and took advantage of the Sunday Street Meet for a bit of practice and found plenty of traction off the start line.

Another of our Super Street racers out for a bit of Quarter Mile action was Mark Warmsley in his very tough 460 powered F100.

Showing it is not all for the boys Sara Marsland was having some fun in her Subaru WRX STi.

Ray Fairfull's EF Falcon is one neat looking car and runs mid elevens at over 124 mph

Wally Hosta runs his 750 Honda in our Rapid Bikes Magazine Modified Bike bracket, he also holds the C/MB Track Record and takes every opportunity he can for a bit of practice!

And to finish off a great day of Quarter Mile action there was a bunch of very healthy burnouts and Simon Hilton did not disappoint as he fogged in the Hi Tec Oils Burnout Pad in Hurricane!

Simbad had the "Short" Wheel Base Rodeo "ON TAP" out for a massive skid!

And no Burnout Session would complete without Renee Waterworth going sick in SIK 333!!!

Another one of our tough Burnout Ladies is Melissa Czaj her blown Commodore "MY WAY" that looks and does the job very nicely!

Simbad was not happy just doing one skid he had his "SIMBAD" Burnout Truck out there as well!!!
