10 DEC 2011 - Friday went Full Throttle

Well the weather tried to scare us off again but Friday turned out to be a beautiful day for the most of Sydney with no rainfall whatsoever in the Eastern Creek area.

Then Friday night turned into an awesomely mild night and the racers that showed up found the conditions were right for some quick runs down the track... and for the fans it was non stop action from start to finish with no major stopages all night.

This week was also the first time we had a Bar operating in the Hospitality Marqee on the Western Mound so that made it even more enjoyable for the fans that wanted to partake a tasty beverage while watching the on track action.

Frank Mamone sorted out his start line lag and and now has to work out how to keep the front wheels on the ground but also has to repair a broken diff after the Nova did some killer half tracks on the night!

Bill Perdikaris left his Pro Stock Escort home and did a few laps in his old ute that now belongs to Hakin Arif however a broken tail shaft ended his night early.

The Stivala / Culmone team had their Camira out with Michael doing some non throttle stop racing and ran a few low 9s on the night.

Scott Jarret's HJ is one tough streeter running nines with turboed 308 power!!!

Paul Thomas was out licensing in his new ride running a best of a 10.03 with much more to come from the 408 cubic inch powered Escort.

Gary Halpin never lets a chance go by to run his 2JZ powered 1200 Datto Coupe and ran in the mid eights at nearly 160 mph on the night!

As always our eager Track Crew are on the ball keeping things ship shape and ready to go ... onyas guys!!!

David McNamara was one of three HAMBsters out for a play on the night.

Matt Gilden achieved a goal he has been chasing for a long time running his first seven second run on his Hayabusa going 7.959 at 175.09 mph !!! and that was done will no Slick or Wheelie Bar... good job Matt!

Another tough 1200 Datto racer is Scott Cousins who also uses Toyota 2JZ power to run 7.7s at over 182 miles per hour!!!

Speaking of 2JZ power Zoran Cajic blasted out a 6.896 at 205 .38 mph in his sawesomley tough Beemer.

Anyone noticing a trend here ... Yet another Turbocharged beast with Andrew Musgrave at the helm of Mark Hinchelwoods very tough Altered running his first ever 6 second pass with a 6.93 at only 182 mph ... we say only 182 because Andrew had to lift off the throttle in the top end as the front wheels were in the air at the 1000ft mark!!!

Bill Hatzinikolas was trying his best to turn his 482 cubic inch big Block Chev powered HQ inside out off the start line and still ran 10.47 after getting off the throttle to try and settle it down!

With the Hi-Tec Oils Race 4 Real events being affected by weather lately we decided to let our Burnout friends let off a bit of steam on the Hi-Tec Oils Burnout Pad at the end of the night and they did an awesome job of fogging in the venue and finished off a great night of Drag Racing action in fine style!
