05 JUN 2012 - Sydney's Newby set to take on the competition at the Winternationals
Sydney's Wayne Newby set to take on the competition at the Winternationals
Tuesday, 5th June 2012
Four full on days of drag racing are ahead this weekend at Willowbank Raceway for the 2012 Winternationals.
Only 58 points separates Wayne from the top spot in the championship, so it is still all out there for the taking at the Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway in this weekend. The final round of the Top Alcohol Championship will be exciting indeed, with nothing left on the table.
A field of thirteen teams will mean every team and driver will be pulling out all the stops to make one of the eight qualifying positions for the elimination rounds on Monday. The runs will be close and we can expect to see some good times, with four rounds of qualifying over Saturday and Sunday.
Whilst the Winternationals marks the end of the current season, it is just like any other race meeting for Newby and the crew. They will put in their all and do everything in their power to achieve their goal of taking home that Gold Christmas Tree at the end of the event on Monday.
What a way to spend your long weekend, so if you haven’t already done so, get your tickets and get trackside for some awesome racing and all the excitement that is always associated with the Willowbank Winternationals.
If you haven’t already joined the JBS/Newby Racing facebook page, now is the perfect time, with Allie promising to keep us all up to date with all that happens at events. “Like” it here.
Wayne Newby would like to sincerely thank the entire team and our valued sponsors JBS Tools, Fabre Australia, Smithfield Diff and Gear, Coldy's Tow & Bullbars, Redline Oils, VP Racing Fuels, Mick's Metal Craft, CRC Industries and Newby Engineering for their continued support, without whom racing would not be possible.
